The Goodnoe Garden is an interactive learning space next to our playground with a raised bed for each grade level (K-6), a native plant garden, and a large gathering space for outdoor lessons.

The Garden was funded by the PTO and planned and built through a strong PTO/Goodnoe teacher and administration partnership.

The garden has a perimeter fence and is easily seen from the south end of the school's new wing..

Each grade level has developed a program specific to their curriculum. Some grades emphasize science and math while others focus on social studies or healthy eating. Our life skills students are serving as Gatekeepers of our garden and play an important role in caring for the space.

The educational opportunities of our garden are endless.  Our native plant garden attracts a healthy population of insects and birds to help control pests. Students have the opportunity to learn about composting and how to create healthy soil..  They can start seeds and transplant them into the garden, help with maintenance, and watch their plants mature and produce food.

Students can access the garden during recess and we hope to soon form a gardening club.
